For torturing them while they were detained at the Abu Ghraib prison, near Baghdad, four Iraqi men say they are suing the US military contractors.
All were released without charge, and have brought separate lawsuits in four US courts.

No decision on Maddie’s case

Portuguese media have reported that the police, investigating the disappearance of Madeleine McCann (photo), are closing the case.
But Fernando Pinto Monteiro, Portugal’s attorney general has said that no decision has been taken on the investigation, and that the case continued to be assessed.

“Something isn’t right” with the European Union, said French president Nicolas Sarkozy (photo), as France took over the rotaring presidency of the bloc from Slovenia.
Europe’s citizens were losing faith in the project, warned Mr Sarkozy on French TV.
