In Texas, a woman has apparently become the first US resident to die from swine flu. She is the second person to die from the virus outside Mexico. The first one was a Mexican toddler who died of swine flu in the US in April. (more…)

The bodies of 11 men and one woman have been found dumped in an empty lot, next to an elementary school in Tijuana city, in the northwest of the country. Most of the victims had been bound and tortured. Some had their tongues cut out and some were only partially clothed, said Prisna Perez, state police spokeswoman in Tijuana.
